BT Vision on an innovation spree launches another set-top box

Keeping in mind the global energy crisis and the catastrophic problem of global warming, BT Vision, one of the largest providers of Broadband TV services in the UK, has now come up with a new energy efficient set top box, Vision +, which will consume around 12% less energy than its counterparts as well as the previous set top boxes from the BT Vision. The set top box will be provided to the new subscribers to BT's Broadband, Home Phone and Digital TV services. The new set top box comes with a built in 160 GB hard drive and forms a major part of BT's Home Hub wireless router. To promote this BT Vision box in a big way, the company has announced to provide the set-top box free of charge to those who order it online before January 15, 2010. At present British Telecom prides itself on its base of five million broadband customers in the UK and has plans underway to make it multi fold. This is not the first time that BT Vision has attempted innovation in the design and usage of its set top boxes. But, this is surely the first time when it thought on the lines power and energy consumption as these measures will help an individual to reduce his carbon footprint and contribute towards reducing the national annual carbon emission levels. It is hoped that the consumers will respond positively to the Vision + set top boxes.
